Hi Anne, Have any of you used the Hevner Adjective Circle in your classical music listening sessions. I was tired of the students saying, "I like it because it is happy". This circle has eight different feelings listed by category and 7 - 10 descriptive adjectives listed under each. As the students listen they look at the chart on the overhead. When the piece is over they must give me one or two words that describe their feelings about the piece. Nebraska uses this in its Arts Framework. I found it at http://csml.som.ohio-state.edu/Music829D/Notes/Hevner.html
Under number 6 I replaced the word gay with ecstatic. I've thought that it would fun to have the kids go to a thesaurus and add to the list. Susan Roberts
